Recently I moved from one house into another one about 40 miles away. The last time I moved we did it all the hard way, picking things up one at a time, trying to get a firm grip on items like the mattress and couch and haul them out the door, down the steps and into a truck. It was very painful work. I figured I would try these forearm forklifts out and man am I impressed! The first item we moved was the mattress, no more having to fight to maintain a grip. Just slip the forearm forklifts under each side, use your arms to lift and your hands to just keep it upright. It made it so easy I’m kicking myself for not buying these last time I moved!
We also moved a large BBQ grill which was a major pain to move last time. Mainly because the grill has many sharp corners and isn’t designed to be carried. Last time we about broke the grill and there was a lot of choice words being used. This time, we slid the forearm forklifts under the wheels, and lifted with our arms. It STILL was a bit of a pain, but nowhere near the hassle it was the last time we moved.
And I have seen others mention moving using these on stairs, it is true that it is not as easy as moving on flat ground, but in my move we did have to go on some stairs and it was still much easier using these on stairs then not having them at all. The reason, these all you to get get a secure hold of what you are moving, even on stairs they still work great. Just remember the guy on the downside of the stairs will get the most weight, and you will need to adjust your hold, in my case I was using the last hold on the straps, then when we got to the stairs I had to move from the last hole to the first hole. They work great!
There are many more examples of how wonderful these things are and I won’t bore you with the details. Just know that these straps are about 3″ wide and not narrow like other ones people are reviewing. The straps have 3 different holes on each end to allow you to adjust where you get the best grip. They work wonderfully and actually made moving a pleasure this time! I’m keeping these safe and will definitely be using them on my next move.
As you can guess I am highly recommending you purchase these if you need to move anything that is either large or heavy, or both! Very nice product, very happy!
These straps help to lift heavy items that are on one flat ground very easily. However, using them to move up and down steps is near impossible.
I saw these on TV one day and thought, “Yeah, those look cool.” Then I saw 2 small women use them to pick up a sumo wrestler on G4’s Attack of the Show. That is what made me buy them in August 2009. I opened them up but didn’t have any need for them until December of that same year. Let me tell you, these orange straps are AMAZING!! It made moving so much easier! I moved washers and dryers, full refrigerators (because I was too lazy to take everything out of them first), huge TVs, and all types of heavy solid wood furniture. I’ve done my fair share of moving over the years and this time was by far the easiest. I moved more because I wasn’t so tired from awkwardly trying to carry big things back and forth. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.
We used them the first time with a peice of furniture that you could not get a grip on to lift. They worked great. Even with the height difference between my husband and me. I truly recommend them.
I’ve used this straps many times, at first it was awkward, and not very intuitive.
But eventually I got used to lifting with the inner elbow, and hands clasped around the corner of the furniture. My arms probably has a 20 degree angle(perpendicular to the ground, not 45) It’s definitely worth the purchase.
Getting the optional 3.5ft Extension Strap is crucial for picking up large piece of furniture, like long dresser, or tall entertainment center.
(Actually this is what makes it worthwhile, because smaller items usually aren’t much of an issue for 2 movers, but larger items that are loaded up can be, take it fro me, I’ve been 6years in business and counting)
You’ll amaze yourselves with what you can carry!
We used the straps to move refrigerators and couches last weekend when we moved to a new house and they worked great and made moving these heavy objects easier.
This product allows you to move things you would never have a chance to move. It takes a bit to learn to use, but after a while it makes sense, it is harder on shorter people to use.
